Megan Smith, B.A. (Hons.), M.Sc.A. SLP (Reg. CASLPO), SLP(C).

Megan Smith, B.A. (Hons.), M.Sc.A. (Reg. CASLPO), is a St. John’s-based speech-language pathologist, registered in both Ontario and Newfoundland & Labrador, who works remotely with our clients to achieve their most important communication goals. She has an internationally recognized certification with Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC) and works in the areas of stuttering/fluency, voice, lisps, social skills, accent, and professional communication training, as well as voice and communication training for transgender and gender non-conforming clients.

Megan believes that her clients are uniquely qualified to set and achieve their own goals, and structures her practice as a partnership between client and clinician. She provides knowledge of speech, language, and recent clinical research in the field, while her clients bring knowledge of their current abilities, goals and values. She enjoys working collaboratively as part of the Well Said team.

Her work as a speech-language pathologist is further informed by prior experience working on social skills with clients with ASD as well as her history of public speaking in paid positions and community groups. She is committed to deepening her clinical skills and has received additional training in a number of programs, including manual therapy and voice-gender alignment (commonly known as transgender voice therapy).

Megan holds an undergraduate degree in psychology from Memorial University and a Master’s degree in speech-language pathology from McGill University. She is registered as a speech-language pathologist with both the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario and the Newfoundland and Labrador Council of Health Professionals, permitting her to work with clients from both provinces.

Ms. Smith is currently accepting new clients for:

  • speech therapy
  • lisps and "R" sounds
  • voice therapy, including transgender and gender spectrum voice
  • social skills therapy
  • professional communication training
  • accent modification
  • stuttering (adult fluency)

Megan is anticipated to go on maternity leave at the end of October of this year. She is committed to creating strong transition plans for her clients, to ensure that their continuity of care goes uninterrupted.
